DeKalb Area Pork Producers Association

	Mission: The DeKalb Area Pork Producers Association is organized to improve the quality, production efficiency and promotion of pork by providing services that enhance profitability and consumer preference for pork.
	Membership: There are presently 80 Pork Producer members in DeKalb and Kane counties. Membership fee is $20 to belong to the DeKalb Area Pork Producers Association. Illinois Pork Producers and the National Pork Producers Associations also solicit memberships. The state office is based in Springfield and the national office is based in Des Moines, Iowa.
	Benefits: Local producer programs include sponsoring the annual banquet, annual business meeting, and educational programs. The association supports youth programs like Meat for Education, Pork Scholarship, Ag in the Classroom, Kane County Ag Days and the 4-H fair and auction. Pork promotions aimed at consumers include seasonal and holiday promotions, and grilling pork chops for events like the 4-H Foundation pork chop drive thru.
