We're looking for Farm Bureau artifacts
DeKalb County Farm Bureau will reach a historical milestone next year as the organization turns 100 years old.  As part of the 100-year celebration, the county Farm Bureau is making plans to capture Farm Bureau’s history in a new display destined for the Center for Agriculture.

The display will feature an assortment of Farm Bureau memorabilia such as copies of the organization’s charter, minutes of early meetings, membership certificates and other documents, plus a variety of Farm Bureau-related items.

Currently, Farm Bureau is asking members for any DeKalb County Farm Bureau artifacts from 1912 on. These may be documents, annual meeting brochures, member signs, old newspapers, photographs, collectibles, old platbooks, specialty items with Farm Bureau’s name and other keepsakes. Items may also be from former Farm Bureau affiliated companies.

Additionally, the organization is looking for agricultural items that may relate to the organization’s early beginnings.

Artifacts may be donated or will be accepted on a loan basis. Members are urged to contact the DeKalb County Farm Bureau office.  Farm Bureau reserves the right to select the artifacts which will be displayed permanently or on a rotational basis.

Contact the Farm Bureau for additional information, 815/756-6361.
