The next Ag Professionals Breakfast meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 15 beginning at 7 a.m. in the Farm Bureau auditorium.
Murray Wise, of Illinois-based Murray Wise Associates, a longtime broker, land auction specialist and farmland investor, will discuss “Farmland Values & Leasing”. Wise will provide his current outlook of farmland values with some examples of unusual scenarios which have happened throughout the Midwest, as well as offer comments on farm lease trends, including the evolution of new leasing types.
Cost of the breakfast meeting is $9/person, payable at the door. Deadline for reservations is noon on Monday, Feb. 13. Please call the Farm Bureau office at 815-756-6361 or email janpeabody@dekalbfarmbureau.org for reservations. As a reminder, no-shows will be billed for the cost of the breakfast.

A new month begins. A few of the annual meetings of the farming enterprises are over. Planning for the upcoming year is continuing. And there is six more weeks of winter....Happy gound hog's day to all of you that believe in that fable.
The markets continue their volitality trying to determine how many acres of each crop will be needed to be planted so there will be enough supply to go around. Hopefully your marketing plan is in place.
